While vacationing in Aspen, CO in February of 2012, Joy suffered from a sudden cardiac arrest. She was fortunate to be in a small retail shop when it happened where the shop owner knew CPR. CPR was performed until the paramedics arrived and revived her with an AED. Joy is from Mobile and has started The Joy Fund Project . By selling upcycled vintage tablecloths remade into aprons, she is making our community safer by providing AED training and devices in local retail shops. I met her in February at the American Heart Association’s GoRed luncheon. Anna and I went to the Farmer’s Market in Mobile today to see Joy and we picked out matching mother/daughter aprons. 🙂
